Barrier Master
Yellow Tanabe wrote and drew the supernatural manga series Kekkaishi. From 2003 until2011, it was serialized in Shogakukan's manga magazine Shnen Sunday, and Viz Media licensed it for an English-language distribution in North America. Sunrise turned it into a 52-episode anime series that aired from October 2006 to February 2008. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of opposing kekkai lineages, must protect their school from ghosts drawn to the hallowed soil on which it is founded. Kekkaishi won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shnen manga in 2007.
