Apparitions
In the BBC drama Apparitions, Martin Shaw plays a Roman Catholic priest named Father Jacob Myers. He looks for proof of miracles that can be used to make someone a saint and also does exorcisms. Jacob learns that his job is more than just sending demons back to Hell; he also has to stop them from getting away. Apparitions is more religiously accurate and based on facts than most fictional stories about exorcism and spirit possession. It shows how the Church describes demonic possession. It also talks about events in history that are important to Christianity and other Abrahamic religions. These events may have been caused by Heaven or Hell, which suggests that the War the Bible talks about may not be over. Joe Ahearne writes the series.
