A.N.T. Farm is a Disney Channel sitcom that debuted as a special preview on May 6, 2011 and was renewed as a regular series on June 17, 2011. After the series finale of The Suite Life on Deck, the pilot episode "transplANTed" aired. Dan Signer, a former writer and co-executive producer of The Suite Life on Deck and creator of the Disney XD comedy Mr. Young, created the series. The series was greenlit by Disney Channel in mid-November 2010, and filming began in early 2011. During the debut of Lemonade Mouth, the first promo was released. The series is set in San Francisco and stars China. Anne McClain, Sierra McCormick, and Jake Short are middle school students in the "Advanced Natural Talent" or "A.N.T." program at a local high school. A.N.T. Farm was officially renewed for a second season on November 30, 2011, with two back-to-back episodes premiering on June 1, 2012. On October2,2012, Disney Channel renewed A.N.T. Farm for a third season, which premiered on May31, 2013 with a one-hour special. However, Carlon Jeffery would not return and Aedin Mincks joined the main cast.
