A coming-of-age story about an outsider who, against all odds and many challenges, fights for love and acceptance and for her place in the world. In the late 1890s, the series is about a young girl who was raised in orphanages and the homes of strangers, where she was abused. Over time, 13-year-old Anne will change their lives and, eventually, the small town where they live with her unique spirit, fierce intelligence, and brilliant imagination.
