Alvin and the Chipmunks

The Chipmunks star in the American animated television series Alvin and the Chipmunks, which was produced by Bagdasarian Productions in partnership with Ruby-Spears Enterprises from 1983 to 1987 and by DIC Entertainment from 1988 to 1990. Alvin and the Chipmunks ran for a total of ten seasons. The Alvin Show, the original series that ran from 1961–1962, was followed up with this spin-off that aired on NBC from 1983 through 1990. The Chipettes, three female Chipmunks, were presented on the show. Miss Beatrice Miller, the Chipettes' human guardian, was also presented. In 1988, the show was rebranded as simply The Chipmunks as the production company DiC Enterprises took over the reins of production. The Samuel Goldwyn Company distributed the first animated feature picture starring the Chipmunks, titled The Chipmunk Adventure, in theaters in 1987, during the fifth season of the show based on the characters. Janice Karman was the director of the movie, which followed the Chipmunks and Chipettes as they participated in a competition that took them all around the world. The show had yet another title change during its eighth and final season, this time to The Chipmunks Go to the Movies. Every single episode was a parody of a popular Hollywood movie, such as "Back to the Future" or "King Kong." There were also a number of television specials starring the characters that were made available. Rockin' Through the Decades was a television special that was produced in the year 1990. During the same year, the Chipmunks collaborated with a number of other well-known cartoon characters to create a program aimed at discouraging the use of illegal drugs called Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue.
