Adventure series Aaron Stone was created by Bruce Kalish and is a live action, one-camera series. Originally aired on Disney XD on February13,2009, to coincide with the channel's inauguration. This was the network's first original series to air. It follows Charlie Landers, a young man recruited to serve as the real-life equivalent of Aaron Stone, the eponymous character from the video game Hero Rising. David Lambert, Tania Gunadi, and J. P. Manoux round out the cast. With a darker tone and a more intricate storyline than most of Disney's live-action productions, Aaron Stone is a standout. The first season's filming took place between June 2 and December 19 of that year. On Disney XD from February 13 through November27,2009, the first season aired. Disney announced the show's renewal for a second season on May5, 2009. On June22,2009, Kelly Blatz tweeted that the second season's production has begun. It was announced on November11, 2009 in a live Ustream conversation with J. P. Manoux, Tania Gunadi, and Bruce Kalish that Aaron Stone would not receive a third season, and the second season would be its last. XD's desire to focus more on comedic live-action shows was cited as the rationale for the change. Before the end of season one in the United States, this news was made. For the second season, which premiered on February 24th,2010, a total of 14 episodes were produced. The final eight episodes of the series aired from June 16 through July30, 2010. Aaron Stone reruns were no longer broadcast on Disney XD in the United States as of 2012.
