Zazie dans le Métro
An irreverent ten-year-old comes to Paris for a quick trip with her rogue uncle. They get more than they bargained for in this Louis Malle comedy, which runs roughshod over the City of Light. Zazie dans le Métro is based on a book by Raymond Queneau that was thought to be impossible to make into a movie. It was made by French filmmaker Alfred Malle on the edge of the French New Wave. It's a stream-of-consciousness slapstick movie full of visual gags, editing tricks, and effects.
