Window Horses: The Poetic Persian Epiphany of Rosie Ming

An Iranian Poetry Festival invites Canadian poet Rosie Ming to perform, but she'd rather be on the streets of Paris than in Shiraz, Iran. She has never left the house on her own because her Chinese grandparents are always looking out for her. All of these stories push her to confront her history; her Iranian father, who she had imagined had given up his family, and the essence of Poetry itself. It's all about bridging cultural and generational differences, after all. I think it's all about curiosity. Maintaining an open mind. Poetry is a wonderful way to discover your own unique voice. Rosie learns about her father's background, her own cultural identity, and her responsibilities to it, all while on an unintentional journey of forgiveness, reconciliation, and perhaps most importantly, understanding.
