Whisper of the Heart

Shizuku leads a humble life, characterized by her passion for storytelling and writing. One day, she realizes that Seiji Amasawa has previously checked out all of the library books she possesses. Shizuku, curious as to who he is, encounters a kid her age whom she finds aggravating, only to realize, to her horror, that he is her "Prince of Books." As she becomes closer to him, she realizes that he only read those books to get closer to her. Seiji hopes to become a violin maker in Italy, and it is his ambitions that prompt Shizuku to recognize that she has no clear direction in life. She writes a story about Baron, a figurine of a cat that belonged to Seiji's grandfather, to assess her writing abilities.
