True Grit

Mattie Ross (Kim Darby), a young tomboy, is sent on a mission of "justice," which includes avenging her father's death. She hires "Rooster" Cogburn (John Wayne), a gruff old marshal with "grit" and a reputation for getting the job done. La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), a Texas Ranger, joins them in their search for the same suspect (Jeff Corey) for a separate murder in Texas. Their journey leads them from Fort Smith, Arkansas, deep into Indian Territory (modern-day Oklahoma) in search of their man.
