They always perform with masks and costumes on, which contributes to the illusion of their magic. At its core, this story is about tenacity and pursuing one's ambitions. The Residents were never willing to bend to the will of the majority. They were never willing to make concessions. They've been following their inspiration for decades, and countless of followers have accompanied them on their journey.
