When the Second World War starts. The south of France. She's the oldest daughter of a well-digger named Pascal, and he thinks she's like a princess because of her good morals. There are a lot of good things about her. One day, she meets Jacques, the son of Mazel, who owns the shop where her father buys his materials. He is a young man. He's attractive and a little bit of a prankster, too. Her father's friend, Felipe, wants to marry her, and he wants to take her to a show about planes and space. Only because she knows that Jacques is going to be there makes her accept. Soon, she will give birth to his child, and he will be gone. The family will have to deal with this pregnancy out of wedlock.
