The Watsons Go to Birmingham

The Watsons, a close-knit family, live in Flint, Michigan in the summer of 1963. When 15-year-old Byron's shenanigans become too much for his parents in Birmingham, Alabama, they decide the family needs a dose of Grandma Sands' no-nonsense approach. As a result, the Watsons pack their 1948 Plymouth Brown Bomber and fly south. When they get in Birmingham, they meet Grandma Sands and her companion, Mr. Robert, and learn that life in Birmingham is considerably different from life in Flint. During that momentous summer, the Watsons become embroiled in something far more significant than Byron's pranks; something that will permanently alter their lives and the country.
