Alice, a young hearing-impaired girl that, after an intended visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to listen to, speak and recover the ill. As word spreads as well as individuals from near and far flock to witness her wonders, a disgraced reporter hoping to revitalize his occupation checks out the small New England town to examine. When frightening occasions begin to take place around, he begins to doubt if these phenomena are the jobs of the Virgin Mary or something much more scary.
