The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

Fred C. Dobbs and Bob Curtin, both down-on-their-luck in Tampico, Mexico in 1925, meet Howard, a grizzled prospector, and decide to follow him in his search for gold in the wilds of central Mexico. They eventually succeed in discovering gold despite huge obstacles, but bandits, the elements, and especially greed threaten to undermine their achievement.
