The Tales of Hoffmann

This film adaptation of Offenbach's opera features a young poet named Hoffman who is haunted by the memories of his past relationships gone terribly wrong. It everything comes crashing down when he finds out that Olympia, the gorgeous mechanical woman created by a scientist, is actually a robot. A beautiful prostitute who claims to adore him is revealed to be a hired gun by Dapertutto, the villain. Last but not least, a magic curse claims the life of his final sweetheart.
