The River Thief

An irresponsible teenager, Diz (Joel Courtney) is on the run from the law. A boy who was abandoned by his parents as a child has learned to take care of himself and refuses handouts. He grabs everything he can and flees. He is a thief and an outcast who has no regard for anyone but himself. When Diz floats into a small town on the Snake River, things begin to change for him. The unflappable elderly guy, Marty, confronts him, and he falls for Marty's guarded granddaughter, Selah, on the spot. In the aftermath of robbing a local drug dealer's house of cards, Diz finds himself in the crosshairs of two ruthless murders. In his quest to win Selah, Diz risks the lives of those he has grown to care about in order to amass more wealth than he can manage. But there are some things that can't be taken or bought. In The River Thief, the themes of self-blame, self-sacrifice, and gratitude are explored.
