Steve Barker (Knoxville), a lovely loser who is being pressured by a greedy uncle (Brian Cox) and a mountain of debt, resorts to an unimaginable, vile, just-crazy-enough-to-work plot. The forthcoming Special Olympics will be rigged in order for him to win gold, therefore he will pretend to be mentally handicapped. However, as Steve's fellow competitors become aware of the con, they encourage him to take on the most difficult challenge of all: becoming a more compassionate person.
