The Pit and the Pendulum

When Francis Barnard hears that his sister Elizabeth has died, he goes to Spain to be with his friends and family. Francis doesn't believe his wife died of a blood disease. Her husband, Nicholas Medina, is the son of the most brutal torturer in the Spanish Inquisition, and he tells Francis that she died of a blood disease. Investigating, he finds out that his sister died because she was afraid so much that she was buried alive.
