Anthea, Robert, and Chris are resigned to a boring week in their late Grandfather's country cottage because there is no TV, until they discover a mouldy old carpet and a strange golden egg. However, when the egg falls into the bonfire by accident, it hatches into the mythical firebird, the Gloden Phoenix.
