The Other Tom

Elena is a woman who raises her child alone and relies on assistance from social services. Tom, her kid, has been labeled a "problem child" at school because of his problematic behavior and receives negative attention as a result. Their already challenging dynamic is further strained by the absence of their father. Tom is given psychiatric medication after he is diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and prescribed it. However, his mother becomes aware of the potential negative consequences of the medication after an odd accident involving Tom. When she refuses to continue giving the medications to him, the Social Services agency threatens to take Tom away from her.
