The Organizer

Professor Sinigaglia (Marcello Mastroianni), the protagonist of this darkly humorous Italian drama about mistreated manufacturing employees in Turin, is the name of the game. In a textile mill, these workers endure awful conditions and have no one to stand up for them until Sinigaglia puts his academic career on the line to help them organize a strike. Though he's subjected to harsh criticism from the authorities, the teacher remains steadfast in his support for the workers' movement.
