Small leaguer Carlton Garret takes an unforeseen road trip to track down his estranged dad, fabulous baseball player Kyle Garret when Carlton's mom comes to be sick. When reunited, Carlton battles to take care of the collection of misadventures triggered by his dad's antics. Attempts at bonding capped as the mismatched duo make their method from Ohio back home to Houston to rejoin the household.
