Two years after the Fourth Great Ninja War, the moon that Hagoromo Otsutsuki fashioned long ago to protect the Gedo Statue begins to fall towards the world, threatening to become a meteor and annihilate everything on hit. During this time of stress, Toneri Otsutsuki, a direct descendant of Kaguya Otsutsuki, attempts to capture Hinata Hyuga but instead abducts her younger sister Hanabi.
