The Laramie Project

It takes place in and around Laramie, Wyoming, after the assassination of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard in "The Laramie Project." The Tectonic Theatre Project, an eight-person ensemble based in New York, came to Laramie, Wyoming, for two years to conduct hours of interviews with residents for the stage adaptation of "The Laramie Project." To portray a portrait of a town facing its own mortality, the film adaption uses the actual words from the transcripts.
