Joan Boothe, the wife of David Boothe, a reporter, goes to Las Vegas with her husband and begins gambling as he works on a story. Casino management encourages her to gamble, and she ends up borrowing money from David's expenses to fund her habit. Even though their marriage is over, David continues to try to aid her.
