The Homesman

When three women living on the edge of the American frontier go crazy because of the hard life of a pioneer, it is up to the religious and independent-minded Mary Bee Cuddy to save them. As she drives the women to Iowa in a covered wagon, she soon realizes how hard the trip will be and hires a low-life drifter named George Briggs to go with her. The unlikely couple and the three women head east, where a minister and his wife have offered to take in the women. But first, the group must travel through the harsh Nebraska Territories, which are full of stark beauty, psychological danger, and a constant threat.
