The Group

Sidney Lumet's film adaptation of Mary McCarthy's best-known book. It's1933, and eight young women are close friends and part of the upper class at a private girl's school. They are about to graduate and start their own lives. The movie shows the years between their graduation and the start of World War I in Europe. It shows their romances and marriages, their search for jobs or meaning in their lives, and their highs and lows.
