The Godfather

A history of the fictitious Italian-American crime family known as the Corleones, spanning the years 1945 through 1955. When the patriarch of an organized crime family, Vito Corleone, narrowly escapes an attempt on his life, his youngest son, Michael, steps in to take care of the would-be killers and launches a campaign of bloody revenge. Michael's actions are precipitated by the events described in the previous sentence.
