The Flamingo Kid

Despite being dissatisfied with his poor upbringing, Brooklyn adolescent Jeffrey Willis relishes the exotic parts of his summer work at the opulent Flamingo Club in the city's fashionable Flatiron district. He rejects his father in favor of the patronage of smooth-talking Phil Brody, and he is attracted by Carla Samson's big bikini charms, which he later discovers to be a lie. A few of late-summer adversities, however, lead to the adolescent's realization that family should always come first.
