During the Klondike gold rush, Jeff Webster sees a perfect opportunity to earn a fortune in beef... and woe betide anyone standing in his path! he drove a herd of cattle from Wyoming to Seattle, then by ship to Skagway, and finally across the mountains to Dawson. There, he and Ben Tatum begin their own gold mining operation. Jeff, a misanthropist, falls for two beautiful ladies, but he refuses to accept the growing lawlessness around him until it eventually hits home.
