Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini's comedy THE EXTRA MAN is a clever and poignant film. THE EXTRA MAN tells the story of Louis Ives (Paul Dano), a lonely dreamer who imagines himself to be the hero of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Louis moves to New York City to start over after a humiliating incident leads him to abandon his job at an exclusive Princeton prep school. He swiftly obtains a 9-to-5 job at an environmental magazine, where he meets an enticing, environmentally conscious coworker named Mary (Katie Holmes).
