Christian goes to his family home for his father Henry's wedding in the waning days of a dying timber town. In the course of returning home, Christian re-connects with his childhood friend Oliver, who has remained in town and worked at Henry's lumber mill but has since lost his job. As Christian comes to know Oliver's wife Charlotte, daughter Hedvig, and father Walter, he uncovers a secret that has the potential to break Oliver's family apart.
