The Count of Monte-Cristo

A TV adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' great novel. Edmond Dantes is wrongly accused by individuals envious of his good riches and sentenced to life in the renowned Chateau d'If island prison. He meets the Abbe Faria, a fellow prisoner who everyone believes is insane, while incarcerated. The Abbe tells Edmond about a tremendous treasure buried on a little island that only he knows about. The elderly Abbe dies after many years in prison, and Edmond flees as the body. Now that he is free, Edmond must locate the treasure mentioned by the Abbe in order to utilize his newfound wealth to exact vengeance on those who have harmed him.
