Unbeknownst to Tom and the audience, Jerry has fallen asleep on a number of the instrument's high-note keys, and Tom's playing eventually wakes him up. Jerry is beaten with hammers, bounced by cables, and squeezed by Tom as Tom attempts to play the concerto while eliminating Jerry. Jerry's defensive antics contribute to the vivacity of the presentation and are a response to Tom's skilled musical assault. At the conclusion of the concerto, only one animal remains for the audience's applause.
