An affair between Thomas, a young German baker, and Oren, a married Israeli businessman who visits Berlin on a regular basis for business purposes, has emerged. Oren gets killed in a car accident while driving through Israel. After his death, Thomas travels to Jerusalem in order to find out what happened. The story revolves around Thomas infiltrating the life of Anat, his lover's recently widowed wife, who runs a tiny café in central Jerusalem under an assumed identity. As a result, Thomas begins to work for her, creating German-inspired cakes and cookies that help her Café come to life. As a result of his involvement in Anat's life, Thomas finds himself in a position he did not expect. If necessary, he will lie until he reaches the point when he can no longer deceive anyone else.
