Dr. Bill Cortner and his fiancée, Jan Compton, are on their way to his laboratory when they are involved in a horrifying vehicle accident. Compton's head is severed from his body. Cortner, on the other hand, is unfazed by this seemingly insurmountable obstacle. His specialty is transplantation, and he is thrilled to be doing the world's first head transplant. Cortner plans the remarkable yet unconventional surgery while keeping Compton's skull alive in his lab. However, he must first get a body.
