The Big Country

To marry his fiancée Pat Terrill, retired wealthy sea captain Jim McKay travels to the great West. The ranchers don't understand McKay's principles or way of life, and Steve Leech, the ranch foreman, dislikes him instantly. Pat is spoilt, selfish, and ruled by her affluent father, Major Henry Terrill. An unruly clan led by Rufus Hannassey is fighting the Major over watering rights for cattle. Terrill and Hannassey seek Julie Maragon's land.
