Shioriko Shinokawa (Haru Kuroki) is the proprietor of a historic book store in Kamakura. She is extremely passionate and knowledgable about books, yet is reserved when not discussing them. She works beside a clerk named Daisuke Goura (Shuhei Nomura). He suffers from an odd disease that prevents him from reading books.
