Testament of Orpheus

The poet's experiences occur beyond of time and reality. After the young poet's demise at the hands of Heurtebise and Princess, the story moves on to the Gypsies, the castle of Pallas Athena, the Goddess's spear piercing the poet's heart, the Sphinx's temptation, Oedipus' flight, and the Assumption. In this film, Cocteau completes his three-part trilogy on the orphic myth, which includes the films The Blood of a Poet(1930), Orpheus(1950), and Testament of Orpheus (2001). (1960).
