Shep Gordon, a Hollywood insider and all-around nice guy, became a music manager by accident after moving to Los Angeles right after graduating from college and making friends with musicians such as Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix. The documentary Supermensch chronicles Gordon's remarkable career. Shep managed rock performers such as Pink Floyd, Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass, and Alice Cooper. Later, Shep went on to manage chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, thereby ushering in the era of television cooking shows featuring celebrity chefs.
