Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning begins with Captain James B. Pirk of the starship Kickstart and his crew being shipwrecked on the planet Earth in the twenty-first century. In order to save the Earth from hostile aliens, Pirk and his crew flew back in time from the far future, but their ship was lost and they remained stuck. A large part of Pirk's daily routine is spent filling his face at a local fast food restaurant, and he is having difficulty persuading the ladies that he is, in fact, an intergalactic space hero from the distant future. As the prospects for humanity's conquest of space become increasingly grim, Pirk devises a dubious strategy to salvage the future of the species he loves.
