Maria Barbizan seemed to be leading a life devoid of purpose despite spending her days working in an office. She has no friends, and nobody notices her at work or in her family because she doesn't actually exist. This makes her miserable. One day, she upends her entire existence, including her pocketbook and her previous way of living, and enters a mysterious competition in the hopes of taking home... an automobile. This is something that we have all fantasized about doing at some point in our lives. She is required to complete a series of tests as part of a "competition to examine the very essence of mind-body articulation," which is being led by Homunculus, a fascinating and curious host. She is locked in a room with four strangers, each of whom is more odd than the previous one.
