The Boston Globe editor Marty Baron appoints a team of journalists to examine charges against John Geoghan, an unfrocked priest accused of assaulting over 80 boys, in 2001. Reporters Michael Rezendes, Matt Carroll, and Sacha Pfeiffer, led by editor Walter "Robby" Robinson, interview victims and attempt to open sealed records. The reporters' aim is to uncover evidence of a cover-up of sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Church.
