Spirits of the Dead

Three filmmakers adapt a Poe short tale for the screen: "Toby Dammit" stars a disheveled, intoxicated, and inebriated English movie star who receives nods of approval from the Italian press and fawning producers. "Metzengerstein" is about a Mediveal countess who has a love-hate relationship with a black stallion who turns out to be her deceased lover. It's called "William Wilson," and it tells the story of a sadistic Austrian student who has an exact double and then kills him.
