Saya Toma (Erika Toda) was a high school student when her parents and younger brother were killed in an airplane crash. Detective Akio Kondo (Yu Tokui) approached her and informed her that "your family is quite likely to have been murdered by speculators." This was her first encounter with the term "spec." Six years later, Saya Toma decides to become a detective, having never forgotten what the Detective said. After obtaining FBI training in the United States, she returns to Japan. Saya Toma has been assigned to the Public Security Bureau's unsolved cases. Meanwhile, as a result of Satoshi Chii's (Yuu Shirota) ploy, Juichi Ninomae (Ryunosuke Kamiki) views Saya Toma as an adversary of his parents and attempts to push her over the brink. Satoshi Chii's ploy has also made Saya Toma and Juichi Ninomae forget they are siblings. The siblings are about to engage in a life-or-death confrontation. Maho Ueno (Umika Kawashima) becomes embroiled in their altercation. Saya Toma employs "spec" to safeguard Maho Ueno.
