Solarbabies
In a future in which the majority of the Earth's water has been depleted, we meet a group of children, usually teenagers, who live in an orphanage controlled by the new Earth's tyrannical authorities. The group in question is quite adept at a hockey-based game on roller skates. It has endowed them with a solidarity that surpasses the government's attempts to subdue them. They discover an orb of extraordinary power and discover it has strange effects on them. They flee the orphanage (on skates) and attempt to cross the wasteland in quest of a safe haven while stormtroopers search for them and the orb.
