Shrek the Musical

Shrek The Musical is a musical written by David Lindsay-Abaire with music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by Jeanine Tesori. It is based on the 2001 DreamWorks Animation film Shrek and the 1990 novel Shrek! by William Steig. It received eight Tony nominations, including one for Best Musical. Amazon.com confirmed on July 19, 2013, that the filmed performance would be available for instant viewing on September 17, 2013, following the closure of the national tour and West End productions. That day also saw the release of a DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download. The performance is a compilation of several live performances as well as one shot without an audience. The original principal cast, as well as a number of alumni from the show's Broadway run, appear. Also, instead of the replacement song, "Forever," it keeps "Donkey Pot Pie."
