Shortbus, a monthly Brooklyn social/artistic/sexual salon loosely based on different underground NYC meetings in the early 2000s, serves as a meeting point for the characters. P J DeBoy and Paul Dawson's Jamie and James are introduced to Ceth, an ex-model and wannabe singer (Jay Brannan).
