Liz Evans, a hairdresser and head of a youth theatre in Carmarthen, Wales, launched a campaign to save the Lyric theatre from collapse in 1993. Together with then-Mayor of Carmarthen Richard Goodridge (the film switches this role to a local councillor), they enlisted Steven Spielberg's assistance in securing a special premiere of Jurassic Park.
